The observing system utilizes many different techniques, both spaceborne, airborne and ground-based. The space techniques include, as shown on the slide, the classical geometric point techniques such as VLBI, SLR, LLR, GNSS, and DORIS, as well as a number of altimetry satellites, the more recent gravity missions, and even more recent, reflectometric techniques.
