In summary, we can state that GGOS through the Science Panel, the IAG Services and Commissions provides geodetic expertise and can support many activities, also on regional level. GGOS as an observing system provides the metrological basis for most Earth observations and is a pivotal element of combined set of Earth observation systems. Moreover, the observations resulting from the three pillars of geodesy are valuable for a number of Earth science fields and contribute to a rapidly developing understanding of processes related to the dynamics of the Earth systems at various phenomea, including plate tectonics, geohazards, the global water cycle, sea level changes, and early warning.
